This was the soup we simply called 'sour potato' at home. When it was cold outside, grandma always made it on the big stove and said it 'warms the soul'. Potatoes, onions, milk, sour cream - all simple, but the result? Perfect.

Instructions

1
Base

In lard or oil, sauté chopped onions, add red paprika, stir, and immediately pour in water to prevent burning.

2
Potatoes

Cleaned and chopped potatoes into a pot, add bay leaf, marjoram, and salt. Cook until soft.

3
Sour Cream Mixture

In a small bowl, mix sour cream with flour and a bit of water. Add to the soup, stir, and simmer for another 5 minutes.

4
Seasoning

For a richer taste, add beaten egg and mix until it thickens. Finally, crush garlic, stir, and sprinkle with parsley.

TIP

Some people use part milk instead of water - if you try it, the soup will be smoother, but I prefer the classic tangy taste with sour cream.
