Peel the potatoes (if they are new, just wash them) and slice them into rounds. Wash and slice the young zucchini into rounds as well. Lightly salt and season both the potatoes and zucchini with black ground pepper.

Heat oil in a pan and add finely chopped onion and crushed garlic. Sauté until golden and add the ground meat. Season with salt, pepper, and fry over low heat for about 10 - 15 minutes.

Grease a baking dish and layer the potatoes mixed with zucchini, then add the fried meat and cover with potatoes and zucchini. Sprinkle coarsely grated cheese on top and bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes.
