I especially love this recipe when I crave something different than the classic Slovak cuisine. Sweet and sour chicken is wonderfully fresh, light, and tastes exotic. I love the combination of tender meat, pineapple, and bell pepper - and when it's all covered in sauce, the dish disappears from our plates before I can say 'good taste'.

Cut the chicken breast into smaller pieces, season with salt, pepper, and let it marinate for a while.

Heat oil in a pan, add onion, bell pepper, and sauté briefly. Then add the meat and cook until it browns.

Add pineapple with juice, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Stir and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

In a glass, mix cornstarch in a small amount of water and pour into the pan - let it boil until the sauce thickens.

Serve with freshly cooked rice.

Linda's tip

If you want the dish to have even more flavor, add a few slices of fresh ginger or a bit of chili - but only to the portion you and your spouse are having, not for the kids.

Tip

Sladkokyslé kura je výborné aj na druhý deň – stačí ho len zohriať a omáčka bude ešte lepšia. K vínku sa hodí jemné polosladké biele alebo limonáda s ľadom, ak máš chuť na niečo nealko.
