This recipe came about somewhat by chance. I had spinach, chicken breasts, and a bit of parmesan in the fridge - and I thought I'd try something new. And the result? A savory, delicate, and light dish that disappeared from the plate faster than I could take a picture. It's exactly the type of recipe that tastes like 'home,' but also has a bit of an Italian touch - just like Slovak home al dente.

Ingredients

Instructions

1
Spinach

Blanch fresh spinach in boiling water for about 30 seconds, drain, and puree.

2
Dough

Cook potatoes, mash them, add spinach, flour, egg, and salt. Knead the dough, press it through a halušky maker into boiling salted water. After they float up, let them cook for a minute, drain, and rinse.

3
Meat

Cut chicken breasts into pieces, season with soy sauce and spices, sauté in olive oil with garlic until golden brown. Add cream, a bit of nutmeg, and let it simmer.

4
Combining

Add dumplings to the sauce and mix, sprinkle with parmesan and let everything blend together.

5
Serving

Serve dumplings with chicken meat on a plate, sprinkle with extra parmesan and garnish with a basil leaf.

Tip

Tip: If you want a milder version, replace part of the cream with a little milk. And if you want a more pronounced flavor, use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts – juiciness guaranteed.
