Pork neck is one of those dishes that cook themselves. Just put it in the oven, add a good amount of onion, and wait as the kitchen fills with the aroma like at your parents' house. It's meat that falls apart with a fork and with the juice it releases, you'd want to soak up a whole loaf of bread.

Instructions

1
Meat

Slice the neck into pieces, season, sprinkle with marjoram and paprika.

2
Onion

Slice the onion into rings, garlic into slices, and place in a baking dish or pan.

3
Baking

Place the meat slices on the onion, add water, and cover with a lid or foil. Bake in the oven at 180 °C for about 60 minutes, then uncover and let it bake until golden brown for another 20-30 minutes.

4
Serving

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or rice and pickles. Use the meat drippings as a sauce - it's full of flavor and onions.

5
TIP

If you want the neck to have an even more pronounced flavor, let it marinate overnight in a little oil, mustard, and onion. In the morning, just put it in the oven and time will take care of the rest.
