Beef with Mushrooms in Cream Sauce and Rice
Ingredients
Instructions
Cut the beef into cubes, season with salt and pepper.
In a hot pan, sear the meat on all sides until browned. Set aside.
In the same pan, sauté the onion until golden, add garlic, paprika, and marjoram.
Return the meat to the pan, add soaked mushrooms (along with some of the soaking water), pour in broth, and simmer covered for about 70 minutes.
When the meat is tender, thicken the sauce with a mixture of flour and cream, and simmer for another 10 minutes.
Serve with cooked rice, you can add a knob of fresh butter on top for shine and flavor.
This dish tastes best when all the flavors come together - the meat falls apart, the sauce has a creamy smoothness, and the mushrooms provide a forest-like taste. The rice is perfect for soaking up every drop of that sauce.
