French Potatoes were the meal that saved every weekend for us. Grandma always said: 'If you don't know what to cook - boil potatoes, eggs, and everything you find in the fridge.' And indeed, a few layers, a bit of ham, eggs, cream, and the result was perfect. That moment when the baked cream starts to shine golden - that was the moment everyone was waiting for with a spoon in hand. :)

Instructions

1
Potatoes and eggs

Boil potatoes in their skin and hard-boil the eggs. After cooling, peel them and slice into rounds.

2
Base

In butter, sauté chopped onion, add ham and briefly heat it.

3
Layering

In a greased baking dish, layer: potatoes, ham with onion, eggs. Lightly season each layer with salt and pepper.

4
Sauce

Mix sour cream with milk, pour over the potatoes and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 35-40 minutes until the top turns golden.

5
Serving

Serve hot, best with pickles or green salad.

6
TIP

If you want to 'enhance' the dish, add some cheese on top - it's not the original recipe, but that golden crispy surface is worth it :)
