Zahoracke Pork with Onions is exactly the kind of meal you have on a Saturday afternoon and say to yourself: 'This is true Slovak cuisine.' Simple ingredients, no complications - just good meat, lots of onions, juice, and homemade bread. This recipe has its roots in traditional farmhouse cooking but tastes excellent even today.

Instructions

1
Base

Finely chop the onion and fry in lard until golden brown. Add garlic, paprika, and marjoram - stir to release their flavors.

2
Meat

Add pieces of pork, season with salt, pepper, and fry until browned.

3
Simmering

Add broth, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 40-45 minutes until the meat is tender and the sauce is thick.

4
Serving

Serve hot, preferably with boiled potatoes or a slice of fresh bread.

5
TIP

For a deeper flavor, add a teaspoon of horseradish or a drop of soy sauce. And if you like traditional flavors, serve with pickles - it beautifully refreshes the dish.
