Today I offer you a dish that I learned to cook when I got married.... My dear husband kept asking for fučka and well, every young bride can handle potato porridge, right? What a disappointment when he told me that the fučka is good porridge... but, my mom does it differently. What more could annoy a young bride?? :) Whether I wanted to or not... I had to ask my mother-in-law for the recipe.

Instructions

1

Peel, wash, and slice the potatoes into very thin slices. Cover them with water, just below the top layer of potatoes. Add salt and cook. Slowly cook until the potatoes do not fall apart. You can test with a knife or fork.

2

When the potatoes are very soft, take a potato masher. Mash the potatoes in the water they were cooked in, almost into a porridge. Then add flour. Start with one tablespoon. Mash again, the porridge will thicken, keep stirring. If the fučka is thin, add more flour.

3

Keep stirring until it boils for at least a couple of minutes. Then remove from heat, cover, and let sit for a few minutes in the pot. While cooking the potatoes, put butter in a smaller pot and add cleaned and thinly sliced onions, fry until golden brown.

4

Finally, you can, but don't have to, add slices of butter to the onions. Then scoop the fučka onto a plate, spread it a bit, and pour the onion butter over it.

5

Serve with milk or sour cream.

Fučka....výborné jedlo....vyrastala som na ňom spolu so 4 súrodencami! Musím ju znova uvariť a tak si pripomenúť naše detstvo!
