Potato Pancakes - Classic Grandma's Haruľa
40 min
Easy
5 portions
If there is a dish that can fill the whole house with aroma, it's definitely potato pancakes. I remember how my grandma used to make them on an old stove with lard - it was snowing outside, we stood at the table and waited for them to be ready. She served them with cold milk, sometimes with sauerkraut, other times just by themselves. And even though we make them in a pan today, the taste remains the same - the taste of childhood.

Instructions
1
Base
Peel the potatoes, grate them finely, and let them sit for a while to release water. Then drain the water and add crushed garlic, eggs, flour, salt, pepper, marjoram.
2
Cooking
Heat oil in a pan (or lard for authentic flavor). Spoon the batter and shape thin pancakes. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
3
Serving
They taste best when served warm - with a glass of milk, sour cream, or as a side dish to meat.
4
TIP
If making them for kids, add a little grated cheese - it softens the taste and browns nicely. And yes, the aroma in the house will linger for a few more hours.
