Goulash
Trim the beef, which means removing the tendons. Cut the meat into cubes, chop the onions into larger pieces. Heat oil in a large pot and slowly sauté the onions - the longer, the better, we sauté on low heat.
Sprinkle with ground red paprika, add a little vinegar and mix in tomato puree. Add the meat, mix briefly and then season with garlic, marjoram, soy sauce, and a pinch of caraway seeds. Pour in a little water - the meat should be just covered - and simmer for 2 hours until tender.
When the meat is tender, add a little more water and let the sauce simmer for another 10-15 minutes. Finally, season to taste.
Side dish
To this goulash, we add fried frankfurters, hard-boiled eggs, sliced pickles, and red bell pepper sliced into strips.
Of course, the side dish can be boiled potatoes, pasta, rice, or bread.
