Wash and dry the meat. Cut into cubes about 3x3 cm, removing any excess fat and membranes. Finely chop the onion separately and fry it in oil to avoid burning! Add red paprika (I use 2-3 heaping teaspoons), mix and add the meat.
If you want to speed up cooking in a pressure cooker, just pour water just above the meat, but if cooking in a regular pot, pour water 5 cm above the meat... Add all the mentioned spices, the bread slice, cover and cook. In a pressure cooker, cook for about 30 to 40 minutes... in a regular pot about 2 hours.
When the meat is almost cooked, there should be no more than 1 cm of water above the meat surface. Now remove all the meat (just the meat) and bay leaf. Blend the remaining broth with an immersion blender until all the onion is completely dissolved.
Return the meat and season according to taste. Best served with dumplings. Enjoy your meal!
