Peel and chop the apples coarsely and stew them in a pot. According to taste, add granulated sugar and a little ground cinnamon.
Prepare the dough. Sift smooth and coarse flour together with baking powder onto a board, add granulated sugar and mix it together. Add butter or margarine - I find it easier to work with when I grate the butter on the fine side of a grater, add eggs and knead the dough.
Divide the prepared dough into two parts. Roll out one part to a thickness of about 3mm and carefully transfer it to a prepared baking sheet that has been greased and dusted with flour. Spread the prepared and cooled apples on the dough and then place the second part of the rolled out dough on top.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until it gets a nice pink hue at 200 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled and slice.
