So I had about three options. Either drown in jealousy or scream out of the window all accumulated anger or simply calm my nerves with a double dose of something sweet...

Instructions

1

Prepare the dough for honey sheets as follows: Melt butter with honey in a saucepan. Beat whole eggs with sugar over steam and gradually add the melted honey mixture while stirring.

2

Then remove from heat source, add baking soda and gradually add flour until the dough is smooth. Turn out onto a floured work surface and now simply knead the dough with enough flour until it is firm but pliable.

3

Divide into 4 equal parts, roll out each thinly and transfer using a rolling pin onto baking paper. Bake on a reversed baking sheet for about 5-7 minutes at 170°C until golden brown (be careful not to overbake, otherwise the slices will be hard and break).

4

Trim all finished sheets to the same size, do not discard trimmings, crumble them into a bowl (serve as a topping for the top of the cake), spread with cream and stack on top of each other. Lightly spread the top and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Let cool in the refrigerator overnight.

Cream
