On Friday evening, we were expecting friends and I wanted to prepare something small that can be easily held in hand while enjoying a beer. Something crispy, fragrant, without much effort. I remembered these raw puff pastry sticks that I made last holiday season - and indeed, they disappeared from the table almost before I could bake the second tray.

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

Roll out the puff pastry and brush it with melted butter mixed with crushed garlic.

3

Sprinkle with Parmesan, oregano, a pinch of salt, and pepper.

4

Cut the pastry into strips about 2 cm wide and gently twist each into a spiral shape.

5

Arrange the sticks on the baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Tip

Tip: These sticks disappear from the table faster than the second tray can finish baking. If you're expecting guests with children, skip the garlic – you can use sweet paprika or sesame instead. They also taste great with soup or just on their own, with wine.
