Mom, it smells so good outside that it could blow my nose off... what are you cooking again?-- a male nuisance wanders around the kitchen and sniffs. And I just fried some onions.

Instructions
1
Soak chickpeas in water overnight. In the morning, drain, rinse, drain again, and cover with water again. Be careful, do not add salt! Cook at home, skimming off any foam. When the chickpeas are soft, add pressed garlic and cook for a while longer.
2
Then blend everything with an immersion blender (I keep a handful of unblended chickpeas aside and add them to the porridge when serving, just for appearance :-)). Pour in cream, add seasoning, marjoram, and chopped onion, season to taste and let it simmer for about 10 more minutes.
3
Serve with your favorite (e.g. grilled) sausage.
