Demikát is a soup that carries the taste of Slovak mountains, shepherds, and honest bryndza. It is a creamy embrace that warms you in cold weather and nourishes you after a long day in the field or on the road. Simple yet noble - just like our country and its people. When you cook it, you don't just get soup, but a piece of Slovak tradition in a bowl.

Instructions

1

Finely chop the onion and sauté it in lard until golden. Add ground red pepper and stir briefly to release the aroma. Then add diced potatoes and pour about 1 liter of boiling water.

2

Cook until the potatoes are tender. Then add bryndza, season with salt, black pepper, and rascové. Blend the soup until smooth, creating a creamy base.

3

Stir sour cream into the finished soup for an even creamier taste. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped parsley or chives.
